RYAN REED 9th IN FIRST SRL START

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 16 year old rookie from Bakersfield, CA had an up and down weekend. Ryan and his team struggled through practice with some suspension issues. Ryan made up for a tough day and disappointing qualifying effort by driving a great race to bring home a top 10 in his Spears SRL SWT debut. When the main event started Ryan headed to the front running as high as 4th place by the mid way point. “We really had a fast car it just went too loose. This was our first race in the car and we now have some great notes and can definitely build on this.” – Ryan

Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) has a month off before returning back to Toyota Speedway on August 14th. After the break RRR will have a demanding schedule through the end of the season. Ryan will run a combined schedule of SRL Tour and Super Late Models at several tracks on the west coast.

RRR wants to send a special thanks to all of our team members and sponsors for the long hours and hard work over the past few weeks!

RRR Team – Crew Chief Robert “Toby” Tobias, Curtis & Melanie McClenny, Johnny Leach, Jeremy Whitezell, Mike Klingenberg & Mark Reed

REED TO THE SOUTHWEST TOUR

Ryan Reed, son of veteran tour driver Mark Reed, will make his SRL Spears SWT debut at Toyota Speedway @ Irwindale on July 17th. “This is a great opportunity and I can’t wait. My team and Joiner Motorsports are putting together a great car. The tour has some of the best drivers and I will learn so much”. – Ryan

The 16 year old from Bakersfield, CA has had an impressive start to the 2010 season. After winning the 2009 Legends Championship, Ryan leaped into TS@I top weekly division (Super Late Models)… Ryan has posted two runner up and five top 5 finishes in just 7 starts.

Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) began the season with a take it race by race approach and make sure when we show up to the track we are prepared. A few weeks back Ryan was battling for 3rd and was put into the wall and the car sustained major damage. This accident forced our team to reevaluate our season and developmental goals. RRR decided it was time to make the next step and add some touring races to our program. “We felt this was a logical step. Ryan has far exceeded our early season goals and a great opportunity for a SWT car came available so we jumped on it.” – Mark Reed

Over the next few months Ryan and his team will run a blended schedule of Southwest Tour and Super Late Model races on the west coast. Please visit ryanreedracing.com for updated schedules, news and results.

Thank you to our great sponsors (JONS Marketplace, Langer Juice Co., K&N Filters, Joiner Motorsports, H&S Body Works, Citrus Industries Inc).

RYAN REED 2ND AFTER WILD FINISH

The rookie driver from Bakersfield, CA went 3 wide on a green, white, checker finish to claim his second podium finish of the season Saturday night at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. The 16 year old driver has had a very successful start to the year with 4 top 5’s in the first five Super Late Model events.

The past 3 races have seen Ryan and his JONS Marketplace, Langers Juice Chevrolet start the race strong only to get tight and fade as they get into a long run. Crew chief Robert “Toby” Tobias and JR Joiner changed everything to try and find a balance. Practice and qualifying was very discouraging the car was either too tight or wicked loose. Team Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) never gave up, taking all of their data…Toby made a great call for the main event set-up. “I was very happy with how the car responded to the changes and Ryan drove a great race showed a lot of patience and when it counted got up on the wheel.” – Toby

RRR will be back at Irwindale May 22nd and try to improve their 2nd place standings in the championship and try to grab Ryan’s first win of the season! With 5 of 20 races now complete Ryan finds himself in a very tight points battle just 8 behind leader Justin Johnson.

Ryan and his team are also making plans to get more experience later this season on the short tracks (Orange Show Speedway and the Bullring in Las Vegas). Please visit ryanreedracing.com for updated news, schedules and links to all of our sponsors (JONS Marketplace, Langers Juice, K&N Filters, H&S Body Works, Citrus Industries Inc).

Happy Mothers Day!!!

RYAN REED GRABS 2ND IN THIRD SLM START

Saturday night, 16 year old Ryan Reed from Bakersfield, CA showed he was ready to race with the big boys. After topping the practice charts Ryan backed that up by qualifying 3rd just short of the pole speed set by Ryan Partridge.

This weekend’s top story was the return of Sergio Pena, the young stand out from this year’s Toyota Showdown at Irwinwdale. Ryan and Sergio stole the headlines by waging the best race of the night for 2nd. The first 25 laps saw Ryan and 2009 track champion Nick Joanides set sail. Ryan was steadily catching Nick and looked as if he may have the car to beat until the mid way point of the race when Ryan’s car started to get tight. The last 15 laps was all Ryan and Sergio fighting for the same piece of real estate. “Ryan was just flawless he knew he had to protect the high line and make Sergio go low. It was just amazing to watch him drive like a veteran and never make a mistake under pressure”. –Mark Reed

The night however was not without plenty of excitement. While running 4th in the quick 6 dash Ryan was collected in a crash coming off of turn 4. Luckily the suspension was not damaged but plenty of front end body damage. Crew Chief Robert “Toby” Tobias and the entire Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) team did an amazing job getting the car repaired for the main event.

RRR wants to send out a special thanks to Joiner Motorsports, Hamke Race Cars & Maropulos Race Engines for giving us such great equipment every weekend! We also can’t forget our great sponsors JONS Marketplace, Langers Juice, K&N Filters, H&S Body Works, Citrus Industries Inc. and the great team at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale for allowing us the chance to race.

RYAN REED HAS STRONG START TO SEASON

The rookie from Bakersfield, CA continues to impress in only his 2nd start in the NASCAR Super Late Model (SLM) class at Toyota Speedway. The 2009 Legends division champion made a huge leap this season into a 550 horsepower 3000lbs late model. Last weekend Ryan overcame some rookie mistakes to bring home a top 10 finish in only his second SLM start. Ryan qualified his JONS Marketplace, Langers Juice, K&N Filters, H&S Body Works, Joiner Motorsports Chevrolet in 6th just one tenth short of fast time! The strong qualifying effort put Ryan on the pole for the fast six qualifiers dash which Ryan won in convincing fashion.

By virtue of winning the dash Ryan started the main on the pole. Running solidly in the top five for the first half of the 100 lap feature, around the mid race point Ryan got loose and spun coming off turn 2 but was able to stay on the lead lap. Ryan gained some valuable experience and showed he can run with the best in the business racing door-to-door with the 2009 SLM track champion and eventual race winner, Nick Joanides as well as 2010 SLM Showdown winner Rip Michaels. Although the handle was gone on the car Ryan recovered to bring home a 9th place finish. “It was pretty cool to start from the pole in just my 2nd race. We had a really good car on the short run but just went too loose for a 100 lap main. I learned so much and want to thank my team for all of their hard work.” – Ryan

Ryan was also the highest finishing rookie and can’t wait to come back in 2 weeks to pick up where he left off. The next event will be on April 10th at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale http://www.toyotaspeedwayatirwindale.com/index.asp. Ryan Reed Racing would like send out a special thank you to all of our family and friends that showed up last weekend to cheer Ryan on!

RYAN REED 15th IN FIRST SUPER LATE MODEL START

The 16 year old from Bakersfield, CA made his first career start in Toyota Speedway’s top division. With heavy rains in CA leading up the All Star event Ryan was only able to practice the Sunday before his debut race. The rookie came out of the box strong running lap times as fast as the series veterans. “We couldn’t believe how fast Ryan adapted to the horsepower and the new car.” – Crew Chief Robert “Toby” Tobias

Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) set some very realistic goals…make the race and run all 100 laps. Those goals started to change as Ryan was not just impressing his team but showing he might be one the cars to beat! Then Ryan learned just how fast this sport can bite back. On Thursday the final night of practice Ryan was getting up to speed on cold tires, got loose and slammed the wall exiting turn 4. Team RRR did an amazing job to rebuild the car for Friday night’s 100 lap main event. Unfortunately, the team had to make several sacrifices to get the car back together and would not have the speed needed to compete upfront. “I just made a mistake and will learn from it. My team is awesome; they worked their butts off just so I could make the race. The car was definitely off but we ran all the laps, stayed out of trouble and I learned a lot.” – Ryan

The team is rebuilding the car a getting and ready for the opening event on March 27th at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. RRR also hopes to run a few events at the Bullring in Las Vegas and other select events in 2010

RRR sends a special thanks to all of our fans and sponsors (JONS International Marketplace, Langer Juice Co., K&N Filters, Kal Gard, H&S Body Works, RBP, Ringers Gloves, Citrus Industries Inc. & Approved Memory).

RYAN REED SET TO MAKE FIRST SLM START

16 year old Ryan Reed is scheduled to make his first Super Late Model start on January 29th during the 2010 Toyota All Star Showdown. Ryan is coming off an impressive 2009 season which included several wins and the Legends Championship at the Toyota Speedway at Iriwndale as well his first S-2 Late Model victory in only 6 starts. “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel. We ended 2009 with back to back victories in the Late Model and Legends car. This is a huge step and my team has built an awesome car… I’m ready.” – Ryan

Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) will roll out a new look and primary sponsor for 2010. JONS International Marketplace will be the primary sponsor of the red and yellow #4 Chevy Impala. Along with JONS, RRR plans to have all of our sponsors return (Langer Juice Co., K&N Filters, Kal Gard, H&S Body Works, RBP, Ringers Gloves, Citrus Industries Inc. & Approved Memory).

Ryan will be driving a 2009 Hamke chassis powered with the new Bill Maropulos spec engine. “We are very excited to see Ryan make the next step. He finally got to make a few practice laps last weekend and did an awesome job and ran some great lap times.” - Mark Reed
Ryan and his team are hoping to run all of the Super Late Model races at Irwindale and contend for the 2010 track championship and Rookie of the year. RRR has some great marketing partners and working hard to secure enough sponsorship.

Robert “Toby” Tobias will lead the team again in 2010. He has done an amazing job putting everything together. Special thanks to Barry Holland, Joiner Motorsports and Curtis McClenny for all of your long hours and dedication!

RYAN REED CAPS HIS CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON WITH A WIN!

Ryan wrapped up his amazing season with a near prefect night last weekend at the Toyota Speedway @ Irwindale. With the 2009 Legends Track Championship already clinched Ryan had one thing on his agenda… to put the Langers Juice, JONS International Marketplace, Pepsi, K&N Filters, Kal Gard, Approved Memory, Sims Trucking Co., Citrus Industries team in the winner’s circle! To add to the night Ryan was pulling double duty between the Legends car and the Langers Juice S-2 Late Model.

Ryan set the stage by setting fast time in the Langers Juice S-2 and 7th in the Legends division. Irwindale Speedway known for their multi car inversions called for a full field invert for an exciting S-2 show. Ryan drove a great race working his way from the back and showing he had the car to beat. By lap 5 Ryan had worked his way up to 3rd and was tracking down the top 2 cars. When Ryan caught 2nd place, teammate Kyle Longmore, they staged a side-by-side battle for almost 5 laps that had everyone on the edge of their seat. With just 10 laps remaining Ryan cleared Kyle and tried to catch the leader but had to settle for 2nd as the laps ran out. We want to thank Tim and everyone at High Point Racing for great season!

After just a short break Ryan was suited up in his Legends car and ready to wrap up his championship season with a win! The Legends race was definitely one of the most exciting events of the night. By lap 3 Ryan was on the move taking over 3rd and had a lock on the leaders. After a few more laps had moved into 2nd and was all over the leader Darren Amidon looking for any opportunity to take the lead. “This was the best car I’ve had all year. Once I could get clear for a few laps we would just pull away. What a way to wrap up the championship with a win and share this night with all of our great sponsors and friends.” – Ryan

Ryan, the 16-year-old son of Mark Reed a veteran driver in the NASCAR Camping World West and Southwest Series, is making his own impressive stats. With only 5 starts in a full size Late Model he has finished 2nd four times and holds the 2009 track record in the Langers S-2 late models. Ryan competed in 25 races this season posting 8 poles, 3 wins and 22 top five finishes. “Ryan’s year has just been amazing. Irwindale has one the toughest Legends field in the country with nearly 30 cars every weekend and to watch him transition into a Late Model with immediate success…I am a very proud father.” – Mark Reed

Ryan Reed Racing wants to thank JONS International Marketplace and Pepsi for their support and hospitality last weekend. What a great way to wrap up the season and celebrate an incredible year… Thank you Tom Thomas for all your help and support! RRR would like to recognize our amazing team; Bruce Langer, Dave Reed, Jim Reed, Karla Reed and crew chief Robert “Toby” Tobias.

RYAN REED SETS NEW S-2 TRACK RECORD AT TS@I

The 16 year old keeps turning heads with a season of unbelievable consistency. After 21 starts this season Ryan has posted 6 poles, 2 wins, and 18 top 5 finishes. “Our goal this year was to win races and be competitive every weekend. The tough qualifying invert has made winning races a real challenge this year but we have been a contender almost every race this season”. – Ryan

Saturday night was no exception Ryan was competing in 2 divisions the INEX Legends Race Cars and the new Langers Juice S-2 Late Models. To challenge this young driver they were back to back all day with practice, qualifying and main events. Ryan rose to the occasion after posting the 4th quick time in the Legends car he ran to his Langers Juice Late model strapped in and set a new track record! This was only Ryan’s third start in a full size race car after turning 16 last month.

The racing was just as exciting with Ryan starting on the outside of the front row in the Legends class after the qualifying invert. Ryan got shuffled back to 6th in the first few laps, the outside is not the place to be on the small legends track, but once he got to the bottom the race was on. Ryan new he had a job to do and drove a great race to get into 2nd place, with just 5 laps remaining he then set his sights on the leader and best friend Dallas Montes. It’s been the same story the last 3 races as Ryan just runs out of laps and settles for his seventh straight podium finish. Ryan has extended his points lead to 74 over second place Brandon Toy with just two races remaining.

After the post race Legends interviews Ryan jumped into the pace car which took him to the staging area to get immediately into his Langers Juice, Jon’s International Marketplace Chevrolet. There was no chance of a front row start as the track decided to have an 8 car invert to make the Late Model race exciting. Ryan got a great start and was passing cars high and low working his way to 2nd place. With five laps to go there was a late race caution setting up an exciting finish between Ryan and race winner Randel King… The two drivers put on a great show with Ryan trying everything he had to get the win.
Next weekend Ryan will make his first start at TS@I in the Auto Club Late Models. It will be an exciting weekend for Ryan as these cars have 100 horsepower more than the S-2 cars and this will be a double feature show.

Ryan Reed Racing wants to thank all of our sponsors and fans for your support (Langer Juice Co., Jon’s International Marketplace, K&N Filters, Kal Gard, JH Sims Trucking, H&S Body Works, RBP, Approved Memory, Citrus Industries, Finishline Signs, Vandam Ent., & Ringers Gloves). RYAN REED WINS NATIONAL QUALIFIER AT TS@I

15 year old Ryan Reed grabs the biggest victory of his young career Saturday night in the INEX Legends national qualifier at Irwindale Speedway. After qualifying his Langers Juice, Jon’s International Marketplace Chevrolet in the 5th starting spot, he looked strong early moving into 3rd. After a few laps Ryan started to slip and fell back to 5th, by lap 15 Ryan was holding his own but not showing that he had anything for the leaders. During a mid-race caution Ryan made a brake adjustment and his blue #56 sedan came to life. In just a few laps he worked his way into 2nd and had a great battle with Brent Scheidemantle for the first. On lap 29 Ryan made an awesome pass for the lead and held on the remaining 6 laps for his first win of the year at Irwindale Speedway! “What a great night, we have led so many laps this year to have something go wrong and come up short and tonight made all of it worth waiting for. I can’t say thank you enough to my crew chief Robert “Toby” Tobias, my team and all of our sponsors for giving me the opportunity to do what I love”. – Ryan

With the first place finish Ryan re-takes the points lead in the Legends class at Irwindale Speedway by 8 points over Brandon Toy with 6 races remaining. Ryan will be behind the wheel every weekend until October 10th running both his Legends and Langers S-2 Late Model. This weekend will be our team’s third Legends race in a row and the following weekend August 15th will be Ryan’s S-2 Late Model debut just 3 days after his 16th birthday. “The remaining schedule is the most demanding we have ever tried and the win Saturday was just the medicine our team needed to get pumped up for the long weeks ahead”. – “Toby”

RYAN REED TAKES POINT LEAD

Ryan has definitely been the picture of consistency with six straight top 5 finishes in the Legends cars at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (TSAI). In the past 7 weeks Ryan has finished 2nd four times and placed 4th & 5th in the other two events. The strong performances have allowed Ryan to come back from a slow start to the 2009 season and take the points lead as the season nears halfway!

One would think there has been a lot to celebrate at Ryan Reed Racing but the last 3 races have been bitter sweet. Ryan has been leading the past 3 events with less than 5 laps remaining and has come up short for the victory each time. Saturday night was by far the biggest heartbreak as Ryan was proving he was the car to beat and starting to put some distance over the second place car when a lapped car spun in turn 4 as Ryan headed toward the checkered flag. Ryan had to lift just enough to avoid the car allowing 2nd place to edge by at the line by .132 of a second. “Nobody puts more pressure on me than I do… my team and I have worked so hard to be in a position each week to win. My car Saturday was just awesome and a great points night but to come up short the last 3 races is very tough. I am trying to look at the bright side, we are having a lot of fun qualifying and racing up front each week and I know the wins will come” – Ryan

Ryan is just a few weeks away from his late model debut in the Langers Juice Sportsman S-2 at TSAI on August 15th. Over the past three months Ryan and his High Point Racing (HPR) team have logged in several hundred test laps in preparation for his big night. The new series actually debuts on July 11th at TSAI but Ryan will not turn 16 until August 12th. “Ryan has been extremely fast and smooth in testing and I am very excited to start racing. It is a little disappointing that Ryan will miss the first 2 races but we have worked out a deal with HPR to run Ryan in a few AAA Late Model races later in the year.” – Mark Reed

Langer Juice Co. and Ryan Reed decided to kick off their sponsorship Saturday night with a bang! Thanks to the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (TSAI), Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) hosted over 600 Langers employees, their families and special guests for a night at the races. “I couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere to announce our deal with Langers and the debut of the new S-2 Sportsman series on July 11th.” – Ryan

The evening started with the unveiling of the Langers Juice Sportsman car and all new class. Bruce Langer joined Ryan at the start finish line as they uncovered this exciting new car and share the excitement with all of the great fans at TSAI. RRR was also joined by Roland Trudell with Rolling Big Power, one of our amazing associate sponsors. “Saturday was a great opportunity for us to showcase Ryan’s talent and all of the opportunities TSAI offers our sponsors. The fan midway display was awesome with free Langers samples, product information for K&N Filters, Kal Gard & the ultra custom RBP show truck.” – Mark Reed

Ryan turned in a solid 4th place finish in the INEX Legend cars and plenty of excitement for the fans. After a 6th place qualifying effort, Ryan wasted no time marching to the front of the 24 car field. In the first 20 laps Ryan had moved into 3rd and driving with all he had to try and track down the two leaders. When the caution came out with 10 laps remaining we all thought this was the break he needed. On the restart the top two cars swapped the leaded and allowed the field to tighten up and Ryan got a shot from behind that almost sent him spinning. Ryan did a great job to regain control and hold on for a top 5 finish.

Saturday was the first of three straight weeks of racing and another great points night. In the past 3 races Ryan has moved to 5th in the season championship just 30 points behind the leader Brandon Toy.
Special thanks to everyone at Langer Juice Co., RBP, K&N Filters, Kal Gard, TSAI and the RRR team lead by Toby Tobias for a great job Saturday night!

RYAN REED NOTCHES THIRD FAST TIME IN A ROW

For Immediate Release:
Ryan has been on fire the last 3 weeks grabbing his third straight pole in the INEX Legends cars and backing those up with a pair 2nd place finishes! Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (TSAI) believes in making all their events exciting with a random invert of the field. In the past three races Ryan has inverted to 9th, 5th & 4th. “I do like the invert it makes for a great race for the fans and a challenge to get to the front in only 35 laps. We have just run out of laps the last few weeks by the time I get to 2nd.” – Ryan

After a disappointing start to the season Ryan had rallied back to 6th in the overall points just 35 out of the lead. With only 4 of 16 races completed there is still plenty of time for Ryan to challenge for the season championship.

Ryan and his team are very excited about the next event on May 30th. Ryan Reed Racing (RRR) along with TSAI will announce the primary sponsorship of Langer Juice Co. www.langers.com. In addition to the primary sponsor of RRR, Langers will also be the presenting sponsor of the new Langers Sportsman Series to debut on July 11th at TSAI. “All of us at RRR are thrilled to have Langers join our team. May 30th will be an awesome night we have invited their over 300 employees and families to join us for the announcement and watch Ryan compete in the Legends car.” – Mark Reed

RYAN REED GRABS FIRST POLE AT IRWINDALE

It looked almost certain that Ryan was on his way to his second win of the season Saturday when he was collected in a wreck while passing for the lead. Ryan proved he was the guy to beat, at the top of the speed charts in both practice sessions and setting fast time in qualifying. Irwindale Speedway has a random draw after qualifying to decide the numbers of cars to invert for the start of the race. Ryan drew a very disappointing “9” and had start from the ninth position in a 21 car field. “I was amazed when the only numbers in the ball where 8, 9 & 10. In the last year the biggest invert I can remember was “6”. I knew it was going to be a challenge but I had a great car and knew we could pull it off.” – Ryan

When the main event finally got underway Ryan drove a near perfect race moving by one car after another. With four laps to go Ryan had moved to third when the caution came out setting up an exciting finish. Going back to green the leaders got together opening the door down low for Ryan to take the lead, as Ryan moved under the leaders, Mark Iungerich turned left into Ryan and drove both of them into the infield until they both spun entering turn 3. That quickly, the near perfect night was over and a 13th place finish. “What impressed me the most was Ryan had no help from cautions the race went 31 laps straight green. To watch him work traffic and track down the leaders was just flat impressive”. – Toby Tobias (Crew Chief)

RYAN REED HAS TOUGH FINISH AT IRWINDALE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

It looked like it was going to be a good start to the 2009 season at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. With just 3 laps to go Ryan was in route to a solid top 5 finish when he got together with 5 time track champion Tom Landreth, sending both cars to the back of the field. “We had a great car tonight and I knew I had a shot to win and I was running out of time. I really felt Tom left the door open and I went for it and we just got together. I hate that it ruined the night for both us.” – Ryan

Ryan has gotten off to a great start early in 2009 winning the first race of the year at Willow Springs and 4th place in the regional qualifier at Blythe, CA. Last weekend Ryan made his debut test in the new Sportsman Late Model car at Irwindale. The 15 year old had never driven a full size race car before last week in fact it was his first time on the ½ mile banked oval as the Legends cars race on the infield 1/3 mile. It was a great test and Ryan proved he can handle the big car running lap times just a few tenths of a second slower than team owner Tim Huddleston (last years late model champion at Irwindale). “I was very impressed Ryan was very smooth and seemed to adapt quickly to the heavier car and increased speed” – Mark Reed

This weekend will be a welcomed break and will return back to action on April 17th & 18th… testing the Sportsman car on Friday and Legends racing on Saturday at Irwindale Speedway.

Ryan Reed Racing wants to thank all of our sponsors (Tres Rios Organics, Citrus Industries, Sims Trucking Co., Approved Memory, H&S Body Works, RBP, Kal Gard & Ringers Gloves). Please visit ryanreedracing.com for updated schedule and information.
